2 Reclaimed Pallet Wood Walls
This Project all began with a request to install new laminate flooring upstairs for the client. That lead to replacing all the door trims and baseboards in a Modern white finish, then because everthing else was looking so new and stylish she ended up hiring me to repaint the entire interior, upstairs and downstairs.
During this time the client asked what to do with that nook off the livingroom, it was so blah! I suggested a recalaimed pallet wood accent wall that i can age to look like weather and distressed old barnwood. The greys would go excellent with the light grey wall color she chose. I painted the back of the wall a dark grey because reclaimed woods are twisty, cracky and warped with character and life and wont always fit snugly together, but this way the darkness behind just makes any gap blend like its just a shadow. All I had to do was hold up a few pieces prior to installing and i was asked to Please do the wall behind the TV as well. The wall mounted TV didn't even have to be removed as she was happy for me to just installed around it (I did remove the soundbar and put it over the pallet wood afterwards) Unless you pancake your head to the wall and peak behind you wouldn't know it!
The client was extremely happy with the 2 walls. Lots of "OMG I love it"-which is oddly paired with a punch in the shoulder most times, and "I can't get over how @&%#ing good it looks" "I can't believe this is my house!"
